The problem is that some cards work great (apparently) with 9.0, while some other cards with the same chipset do not. I did not ever see Mandrake say that GLX was broken on the 7500 due to proprietary software/drivers. And I think if GLX does not work on the Radeon 7XXX cards, it should be fixed, and even worse is the blank screen you get with some Radeon's on Mandrake (8.2 and 9.0), where Knoppix gets it right ou-the-box with GLX! > The same is true of /dev/sequencer support under a number of > cards that used to work with OPEN SOURCE drivers but no longer do.
