Whatever is done with Guava, something downstream will break. And remember: *we 
updated Guava for security reasons*. 

-1 to any rollback

Proposed: 

# we add to our release notes "guava 27 isn't used in core hadoop but may be by 
libraries". 
# we need to get those bits of the hadoop which aren't shaded (all the object 
stores) available as lower-conflict artifacts which somehow work with 
hadoop-client-API lib (this inevitably means that a hadoop-private-api lib will 
be needed too)
# and even then, things we redist will have issues.

guava is a losing battle.
