if the field is intended to be modified by user i think it is reasonable for the type change IMO b/c transform function are applied after upsert occurs (IIUC) this means if user wanted to convert a source field from the stream connector to a boolean type then write it into the upsert delete record column, it is not possible. do we have any discussion regarding whether a derived field is transformed before or after upsert occurs? -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
