# Proposed changes Issue Number: Step1.3 of [DSIP-023: Add inverted index for full text search](https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/DORIS/DSIP-023%3A+Add+inverted+index+for+full+text+search?src=contextnavpagetreemode) ## Problem summary Introduce a fulltext query syntax with keyword `MATCH`, `MATCH_ANY`, `MATCH_ALL`. - `MATCH_ANY` means hit one of multiple terms, will return true - `MATCH_ALL` means must hit all of multiple terms, will return true - `MATCH` is equivalent to `MATCH_ ANY` match syntax check list: - string type inverted index column, - and inverted index set `STANDARD` or `ENGLISH` parser for example: ``` -- create table with INVERTED index CREATE TABLE httplogs ( ts datetime, clientip varchar(20), request string, status smallint, size int, INDEX idx_size (size) USING INVERTED, INDEX idx_clientip (clientip) USING INVERTED PROPERTIES("parser"="none"), INDEX idx_request (request) USING INVERTED PROPERTIES("parser"="standard") ) DUPLICATE KEY(ts) DISTRIBUTED BY RANDOM BUCKETS 10; -- fulltext search - check ok: select * from httplogs where request match_any 'GET'; select * from httplogs where request match 'GET'; select * from httplogs where request match_any 'GET images'; select * from httplogs where request match_all 'GET images'; - check failed: select * from httplogs where clientip match_any '127'; select * from httplogs where status match_any '10'; select * from httplogs where size match_any '10'; ``` ## Checklist(Required) 1.
