Closing this as not planned, following the consensus reached in this discussion and the closed PR #1045. CKC stays a thin layer between Kafka Connect and Camel: per-record manipulation belongs in Kafka Connect SMTs or converters, and logic that needs Camel processors is better built directly with Apache Camel. Since then the connectors have moved to Kamelets, so any processing a specific connector needs lives in its Kamelet.
