Hi all,

I reported the issue to ATI on 15.08.2006 (maybe somebody else
did), it has the Customer Care Ticket n. 737-1083582.

Today I checked again, ant they mark the stuff as RESOLVED, so
maybe next Linux driver will have full OpenGL 2.0; more I don't
know, they usually don't answer directly to questions, but use
them as feedback from the community to debug/improve the driver.

I copy/paste below what I wrote to ATI.

Ciao, Leo

Ticket #: 737-1083582
Status: Resolved
Date Created: 8/15/2006 7:35 AM EDT
Date Updated: 8/29/2006 9:49 AM EDT
Product: Radeon 9700 PRO
Summary: How much of Opengl2.0

Details: Hi, thanks for the Linux driver, also if it's not
(yet) GNUed; I write because the movie editing program I'm
using, http://heroinewarrior.com/cinelerra.php3 , could get huge
benefits from a full OpenGl 2.0 implementation, but from what I
come to know from Cinelerra mailing list:

Is there a hope to see a full OpenGL implementation in ATI Linux
driver soon?
That would be nice.
Or is it a hardware limitation? (and maybe I need to buy another
graphic card from... the other vendor).
