Never attribute to malice what can be blamed to SVN! 8)
And I think that SVN won't let you commit if your working directory is
not up to date with the upstream. Unless someone is using git2svn...

I have that too, but it try to cut it down...

It didn't break any patches that I know of, it just bloats the patch
size and makes it more difficult to see what the patches actually
does.
