Hi all,

app_queue is one of the nastier pieces of work in the current code base.
Until yesterday ICD, which is a much better chunk of code to perform a
superset of queuing tasks, was not built by default. In fact, it
wouldn't build at all, as it had not been kept up to date with changes
to other parts of the software.

I spoke with Anthony Minessale, who originally developed ICD. He said
the code was quite usable at the time he abandoned it to move on to
other things.

After a few changes, ICD now builds but doesn't work. There seem to be
just a few minor reasons for this. I think we need to fix those minor
reasons (this seems to basically be some of Mike Jagdis's command line
changes which are not quite complete), and get ICD into use. As soon as
it is basically functional, I will take app_queue out of SVN.

If I recall correctly, ICD lacks queue logging. app_queue has some really nasty logging making parsing/graphing the results a tough job. I beleive we should add some sane status logging, preferably to a db (mysql/odbc/whatever) to make monitoring easier. At the very least, we need logging agents/calls/hangups/call misses etc
