A reason for my elaboration was that I severely misunderstood this question with the topic of this thread. KCharSelect is a tool to pick a _single_ unicode character in the application's space, while we're discussing a, input method which exposes Unicode ranges to the user (so has a state), aside from language selection. QChar::category() is enough to know the category and querying categories for given font is available somewhere (cannot spot it now in Qt but it's in ICU maybe?). This does not change the opinion that the place for implementation is the OS. And usability study is of course a good thing to perform. > > Cheers > Friedrich > _______________________________________________ > calligra-devel mailing list > calligra-devel@kde.org > https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/calligra-devel > -- regards, Jaroslaw Staniek KDE: : A world-wide network of software engineers, artists, writers, translators : and facilitators committed to Free Software development - http://kde.org Calligra Suite: : A graphic art and office suite - http://calligra.org Kexi: : A visual database apps builder - http://calligra.org/kexi Qt Certified Specialist: : http://www.linkedin.com/in/jstaniek
