I agree with you that we should be stringent when we talk about it.  
Unfortunately it's a fact of life that many people will continue to talk about 
'KDE' when they mean the desktop or even the full collection of software.

And I don't think that just because boud doesn't want to make the distinction 
that everybody thinks your work is for nothing. :)
