Andrew Tweddle commented on XERCESC-2057:
-----------------------------------------

I have a few compilers on my desktop. I was trying and assuming that xerces
would be compiling from Borland C++ Builder 5.5, but it seems that xerces
started in a Delphi 7 compiler folder. Why who knows? your suggestion about a
direct copy at the command line came up trumps and it worked!
Which gets me to the next question . How does xerces select the command line
compiler when I have multiple C++ Builder and Delphi compilers installed?

> Affects Versions: 3.1.2

> MAKE Version 5.2 Copyright (c) 1987, 1998 Inprise Corp.
> cd XercesLib
> copy ..\..\..\..\..\src\xercesc\util\Xerces_autoconf_config.borland.hpp
> ..\..\..\..\..\src\xercesc\util\Xerces_autoconf_config.hpp
> Fatal: Command arguments too long
> Since Xerces is installed on the C: directory at the highest point it is not
> possible to easily shorten any of the directory lengths to make this command
> work, is this important, I don't know I am a newb to Xerces. Does this copy
> need to be done or is there a quick copy that could be done to make the rest
> of the build process work I have no idea.
> regards sarason
