Summary: Spurious systax errors, Purify detects memory access problems. Project: make Submitted by: yshtil Submitted on: Mon 29 Aug 2011 08:15:11 PM GMT Severity: 3 - Normal Item Group: Bug Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Component Version: 3.81 Operating System: None Fixed Release: None Triage Status: None _______________________________________________________ Details: I have a fairly large make code. It often produces syntax error of type *** missing separator. Stop. We have a large LSF build farm and the error appears on some hosts, but not on the others (this is why I say often). I finally built a purified make 3.81 and was able to observe ABR (array bound read) and UMR (Uninitialized memory read) errors. I cannot really send you a test case since the sources are proprietary. I attach the .pv file just in case. Let me know if more info is needed. _______________________________________________________ File Attachments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon 29 Aug 2011 08:15:11 PM GMT Name: make.pv Size: 21kB By: yshtil <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=23896> _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?34167> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-make mailing list Bug-make@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-make
