That is because it's not exactly what is being translated. It's /dev/cons which is translated at runtime, see `fsysopts /dev/cons` Then the console translator exposes a mouse character device, which thus show up as a character translator, but it doesn't have its own translator. > I try to understand the meaning of 0 and 36 in `/hurd/chrdev 0 36` They are meaningless here.
