I'm thinking about oskit-mach only; sorry for the imprecision above.

Basically I mean the behavior that configure sets up a standard list
of options, and --with and --without are the ways to add or remove
device drivers; that no configuration steps are necessary besides
this.  (And I strongly prefer the null configuration being the
default.)  Does that part work?  If so, sorry for sowing misunderstanding.
