And tomorrow has come; and now I am totally confused. Messed up the new source,
so down loaded a fresh version from CVS last night. Removed optimisation and
made duplicate directories hurd.old and hurd.new. Built hurd.old with the deb
package gcc 2.91.66-1.2; build hurd.new with native built gcc 2.95.2 from
/usr/local/bin. Here are the results:

New Hurd and new proc .................fails
New Hurd and old proc ...................works
Old Hurd and old proc ...................works
Old Hurd and new proc .................works Howl !!

OK. I am running old Hurd and new proc so if I replace the shared libraries one
by one it should ultimately fail. This sounds a great way to wreck my Hurd. I
am going now, I may be gone some time.
