My ./stdio.h is a little different. Maybe you have setting set to change WARNINGs into ERRORs, which stops the compilation. I'm using gcc 5.3. Which version of gcc are you using? You could mess with the source to get around this. "gets()" is now deprecated , and it seems your problem arises from something having to do with that...
