You got that right. Although you didn't ask me, almost nobody uses either CheriBSD or GB18030 (certainly both!), and unless the fix is trivial, or useful on real platforms, I wouldn't worry about it.
CheriBSD is a research tool useful for finding bugs in our code, but in this case it's a bug in CheriBSD itself and we can safely ignore it.
