Good idea -- I learned something from this, and it is useful to document why we use a particular solution. It may be that there are alternatives that are better than --output-def, and if so I'd like to learn them. If we mention the arguments for and against various solutions, people with more insight can refute them if they are incorrect. I'll propose an updated patch next. /Simon
