The vers8 test runs but it uses vers1.c:

-S -fpic -fno-sanitize=all -fno-lto -c
/home/sam/git/binutils-gdb/ld/testsuite/ld-elfvers/vers1.c -o tmpdir/vers8.s
I don't see any use of vers8.c.
