I still have to study more deeply, but have three recommendations: 1. hicolor: this is not interfering with the problem, I think, but is clearing been needed by GtkLauncher. As WebKitGTK is always supposed to be used by other applications, hicolor is not recommended there, but probably in the other ones. But I have to check that and perhaps the book needs to be fixed. 2. Curl: this one also needs some study in the book, to see if it has to be fixed in WebKitGTK's page. I am almost sure you need to install it, in order to get flash working, it is used for download, perhaps through javascripts. 3. java plugin: You need it, because the sites often use javascripts and flash together. If you do not want to build OpenJDK or do not want to install the binaries we provide, and build after IcedTea-Web, just install temporarily the plugin from Oracle. I discussed it before, but already forgot details. The about flash page: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ has several (I think three) flash applications running but one one of them I think does not need javascript: http://www.adobe.com/swf/software/flash/about/flashAbout_info_small.swf gives a box (frame?) with a title the following written inside (I copied and pasted): You have version 11,2,202,335 installed I have inspected with midori and found only html and flash plugin (unfortunately, copy/paste did not work. This one is sufficient to see that flash is working or not. After it runs, other problems may be related to javascript and/or gstreamer. for example. Please, after doing these modifications, report back, hopefully good news). I got a bad yesterday, this is the reason to replying only now. -- []s, Fernando -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
