FWIW, I once did some testing on a very low horsepower (500MHz CPU)
setup and 300Hz did best with video. Since then I tend to favor 300Hz
for everything. If I was a gamer and demanded ultraquick responses,
I might go with 1000Hz on a fast CPU. But, 300Hz should yield more
overall throughput than 1000Hz even on a fast CPU.

Why not start with that setting, save the .config and then do a

make menuconfig

to manually make the changes you need. Alternatively, maybe someone
on the list could share their .config for a similar hardware setup.
