I've now booted my test system which I upgraded to 1.18.0. This is
a radeonsi, it seems like I upgraded the following, in this order -

mesa-11.0.5
xorg-server-1.18.0
mtdev-1.1.5 [ this was now required, but can probably be disabled
with a switch ]
libevdev-1.4.5
xf86-input-evdev-2.10.0
xf86-video-ati-7.6.1
libva-1.6.1

My evdev_drv links to libmtdev, libudev, libevdev as well as libc,
vdso, ld-linux. Perhaps there is a problem with your evdev, or else
maybe it was the old version for the 1.17 server ?
