Hi folks,

Apparently Iran claims to have 2 new supers, the larger
at 89TF.

http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9211058/Iran_claims_two_new_supercomputers

Looking at the photos they look like SuperMicro boxes,
some 2I with lots of disks and some that look remarkably
like GPU boxes - compare this picture:

http://www.mehrnews.com/mehr_media/image/2011/02/623838_orig.jpg

and this SuperMicro GPU 1U box:

http://www.supermicro.com/products/system/1U/6016/SYS-6016GT-TF.cfm?GPU=TM1

They look the same to me though of course there's no way to
tell if GPUs are in them, but the spacing between them does
seem to imply that they kick out a fair amount of heat..

Interesting!

cheers,
Chris
