Ah, but you don't! That's the catch. No such thing as a free lunch, remember? :) You may get lucky and find out that your disabled core has been crippled only to supply cheaper 3-cores demand, as David Mathog suggested. Or even get a slightly disabled core, which won't cause any trouble in your email writing or Crysis gaming. But chances are, if your needs are more HPC-centric, that you won't really be able to fully take advantage of that fourth core after all. Maybe it's worth trying, maybe it's not, depends what you do.
