just an FYI, if you are trying to use backuppc as an email server, even if
only for use with backuppc, you need to make sure email traffic is not
blocked by your isp.  if it is, you need to see if you can connect to a
smart host on an open port to send email.  otherwise, backuppc(sendmail)
will send the mail but it will fall into the ISP's firewall blackhole.
sendmail will go no notification of failure!
