I get the smaller WAV ( MS compatible gsm compressed format ) files emailed with this config. I don't want to create the wav (uncompressed format) files but it only works if I keep them.

My working kludge config is thus:
format=WAV|wav49|gsm

If you use WAV instead of wav for your attachments they'll be 1/10 the
size.  Just be sure WAV is the *last* entry in your format=line, so it
should read:

format=gsm|wav|WAV

and that should fix it for you.
