Are you sure you want to update CI's in the base element class?
There normally won't be any CI's in this class as they are normally stored in the lower classes in the CMDB hierarchy (eg computer system) It doesn't look like the key field being used is the instance id field. I am using instanceID as my primary key. And I am just updating a custom attribute that I added to the Base Element class. I have selected 'Never' from cerate a record from Data Exchange Configuration window as I just want to update the record. When I run the data exchange, I get the Rule Validation Error in the logs. Also, I am seeing following lines in the debug logs.
