We had a similar problem on our Solaris environment where adding, deleting, or modifying an attribute in the Cmdb by any method would cause the Arserverd to core dump the system.
After weeks of sending log files and other stuff, support finally advised us that there was an issue in CMDB 7.6.04 SP1 that would cause this to occur, but was fixed in SP2. For about a month we had no problems. It was when we started importing data that the problems started. Our Linux and Windows environments have seen no problems while at those versions though. You didn't not state in your request what your configuration was. Sent from my iPhone, so typo's or funky words can and do happen!
