The option is configurable for system generated messages. Refer to Chapter 6
Configuring servers and clients in:

BMC Remedy Action Request System 7.6.04 Configuration Guide

User Prompt Bar For

Specifies whether system messages appear in the prompt bar or a pop-up box. The
options are:

Notes and Warnings (default)-Notes and warnings will appear in the prompt bar,
but Errors will appear in a pop-up box.
All System Messages-All system messages will appear in the prompt bar.
None, Show in Popup-No messages will appear in a prompt bar. Instead, all
messages will appear in a pop-up box.

Look at the Server Information - Configuration - Use Prompt Bar for: selection.
I have not studied it, but that is probably what they are talking about.

Subject: inline error messages.

Some of our non-technical people went to the Chicago RUG a few weeks
back. They came back wanting inline error messages instead of
pop-ups. The way they are describing it is that it's a server setting
or application setting. I've looked around and can't find it in 7.6.04
does anyone know where it is?
