I was able to install the WUT and Dev Studio on Win 7 x64. I had to use
Compatibility Mode for WUT. I used XP Service Pack 2. I have noticed some
hanging when using the WUT.

The same is true for Window 2008 x64. I have not noticed the hanging with
the 7.1 WUT on Win7 or Win 2008.

With Win 7 you can try MS Virtual PC with XP Mode. I just installed it
yesterday and have not had too much of a chance to play with it yet.
Basically you install your incompatible apps into a MS pre-built XP VM (
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx). The application
runs in XP but you can call it from your Win 7 start menu and can create
shortcuts in Win 7 to it. You just see the virtualized application and not
the full desktop (you can launch the full desktop to install apps).
