Hi everyone,

We are moving from windows to unix for our servers. Dev server is working
fine (of course dev servers always work fine)! Now we're at the prod server
process and the server guys are floundering a bit. We are planning a prod
application server and a hot backup application server pointing to the same
database. These go through a BIG IP server. The hot backup application
server is not in service while the main one is up, it's just there waiting
for a hardware failure.

The server guys are having a problem installing AR on the hot backup
server, sorry the details are sketchy. They simply said it doesn't want to
do it. So they called support and came away with the need for server
groups.

In this scenario should we need to use server groups? Does anyone have
something similar? We've gone from the simplest of systems (one server for
everything) to this elaborate environment. Yes I understand there are
benefits for it but wish the server guys were remedy guys too!

Any enlightenment you can provide will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Susan
