Technically, there ARE forms like AST:Asset that you can use, but you'll have to customize the app to have them interact with the other apps. Sounds like the CMDB forms will do what you want. I don't think you need to buy Asset licenses to use it - Asset Viewer is all most people will need. Do verify that, though.
