Dave,

Please check your ar.cfg file to see if the Next-ID-Block-Size option is
set. This is where you define the block of ID returned from the DB to
AR. If and when a next set of IDs are needed it will discard any unused
IDs. This is normal behavior with this option set.

Thanks

Kelly

Actually, that wouldn't be how it worked, but if he's using ITSM 7, it's
possible that Incidents are being discarded (i.e. opened but not saved
by the user). Those are allocated an Incident ID when the New window is
opened.

If he's on ITSM 7, he can go to the HPD:IncidentInterface_Create form -
it will show the records in that "pre-Incident" state.

        Dave,
Are you using the ARS 7 feature that allows you to reserve
blocks of Request IDs in advance?
I'm not on 7 yet so I really don't know how you access it but
since it seems to be jumping an increment of 10 it seems like it could
be the case.

Since I've upgraded from 6.3 to 7.0.1 patch 4 (and patch 5 in
QA) I've noticed missing (skipped) Request IDs. It will go from 019870
to 019880. This has happened on more that one form. Has anyone else
noticed this?

        Windows Server with SQL 2000.

        Thanks,

        Dave
