Susan,

The API is logging into the AR Server, so it will need a Remedy ID with the
permissions appropriate to the actions you wish it to perform. There are
many API commands which require administrative privileges, so, make sure you
know what you need him/her to do when setting the API account permissions.

Good luck,

Matt Reinfeldt

Subject: API program needs login - is it ARS login or DB login

**

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for what probably seems like a simplistic question but I couldn't find
a definitive answer in the manual. We have a consultant in that is writing
an API program to in theory create Help Tickets from one of our other
systems. No problem, know this can be done.

Question is ... what kind of login does the program need. Does API go
directly to the database (oracle in this case) or in theory is it logging
into the user tool?

Appreciate your help ... of course everyone needs to know now!

Thanks,

Susan
