Carey,

I think ARDBC LDAP is configured properly. I can open the LDAP Vendor
form I was able to eventually create and query records from Active
Directory.

I just noticed another oddity. When I first bring up the Create a
Vendor Form screen, enter "ARSYS.ARDBC.LDAP" and
"ldap://LDAPSERVER/DC=pbsj,DC=com??sub?(objectclass=user)" then click
the Load button I receive this message "The specified plug-in does not
exist. (ARERR 8755)".

After researching I found that in order to get this to work I had to
first click the Create button - which displays another error message.
Then I can click the Load button and it works.

I have switched on every log file with the greatest detail and activated
SQL Profiler (SQL Server 2005). Nothing unusual stands out.

In the schema_vendor table there are additional Vendor entries that also
do not show up on the Create a Vendor Form screen:

vendorName tableName
ARSYS.ARDBC.REPORT Report
ARSYS.ARDBC.CONFIGFILE @

At this point I am not sure what could be the issue. The installation
was straightforward - install ARS server, then mid-tier, then Admin,
then User, then configure AREA LDAP, then configure ARDBC LDAP.

Because of the numerous bugs that have already been discovered in ARS
7.x it's difficult to determine what could be mis-configured on my end.
I would rather the issue be on my end because then I wouldn't have to
wait until BMC popped out another patch.

Stephen,

Have you properly configured the plugin config form? (Via the User
Tool) If not then I have seen "all plugins" not be listed in the
"Create a Vendor form" dialog in the Admin Tool.

Verify that all of those settings look correct, and that you supplied
the correct password.

You can turn on the server Plugin Logs and turn the "plugin level" up
to "all" to see what is really going on.
