Hi Brian,
I raised this issue with BMC a while ago.

What you may be experiencing is a performance issue caused by a re-cache of
the server.

Whenever you create a new Company as an Operating Company or a Customer in
ITSM 7.0, or any Support Group, this results in a new group being created in
the Group form.

In accordance with AR System behaviour, when a new Group is created, the AR
Server needs to re-cache the Group definitions.
If you turn on API and/or SQL logging and try this for yourself, you can see
what I mean.

You could potentially suffer from this if:
-Your users are creating a lot of new Groups (via Companies and Support
Groups in ITSM 7.0
-They are creating a few while there is a large load on the AR Server.
-Your machine is not of sufficient hardware spec to be able to handle this
amount of load.

BMC advised me that this was currently as designed, though I believe an RFE
was created for this to make the re-cache a little more intelligent.

HTH
Cheers
Chris.

Subject: ITSM 7 Create Company Slowness

**
All,

I am seeing a performance issue when creating Companies in ITSM 7.0.1.
SQL/API/Filter logging is not indicating any specific issues. This seems to
be happening more with users without Unrestricted Access, but some users
with it are also having the issue. Has anyone noticed this on their system?

ARS 7.0.1, ITSM 7.0.1 on Solaris 9
Remote Oracle 10g

Thanks,
Brian Baker
