I've also noticed the SLM 7.0.00, 7.0.01 and 7.0.02 InstallShield's bomb out on a regular basis during my several practice and real SLM install attempts. Was thinking it was just me or something screwy on our development and production servers (Solaris 9 with Oracle 10gR2) as sometimes it would complete without any problems. Restoring from backup to "try" again is a big issue and something I shouldn't ever have to do!
The other issue with the SLM install has been with the ARIntegrations installer. Except for the 7.0.00 release, the process that builds the SLM:Measurements to HPD:HelpDesk join doesn't run and you have to manually re-execute this process. I'm amazed at how buggy the whole SLM install process has been as I don't see these issues with the other ITSM apps. I wonder if any of this has been reported to BMC? I also don't understand why they don't just make a standard install script for SLM and be consistent with the other apps. The same goes for the CMDB CIViewer InstallSheild!
