Hi, Herb:

Strip off the Modify mode parameter.  It is not necessary when using the eid parameter.  Exclude the quotes and equal sign from the eid parameter.

One more thing.  For me, in the 5.1.2 version of mid-tier the formalias reference rather than form seemed to work.

Example:  (this syntax worked for me)

http://hostname/arsys/servlet/ViewFormServlet?server=<servername>&formalias=<formalias>&view=<viewname>&eid=012345678912345

Syntax examples from Action Request System 5.1 Developing AR System Basics manual:

The following examples show how to create direct access URLs.

Example 1:

http://<host>/<contextpath>/servlet/ViewFormServlet?formalias

=<formalias>&server=<arserver>

After the user logs in, the system finds and displays the web view for the

specified form in query mode.

Example 2:

http://<host>/<contextpath>/servlet/ViewFormServlet?formalias

=<formalias>&server=<arserver>&username=<username>&pwd=<password>

&locale=<locale>

Hope this leads you on your way.

Michelle

If I remember correctly I dont think you want to encode the = after eid so it would be eid=%22000000000000009%22

Good Morning All

It has been a while since I have done this and I can’t get it to work…

I am trying to create a encoded url <mid tier 5.1.2> to include in an email that will allow the user to

click on the link and login into the form to see/modify their request.

I have this. It prompts for login but opens a blank form

http://server/arsys/servlet/ViewFormServlet?form=formname&server=<server name>&view=<webview of form>&eid%3d%22000000000000009%22&mode=Modify

What is wrong

Thanks

Herb
