Hi,

I hit the same problem while updating through KDE RC.

I've filled a wish in KDE bug tracker
(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=290778) to alert the user on start
if /, /tmp or /home is full as it affects KDE applications way out of
proportions as compared to GTK+ applications for example.

I'll try to work on something if I find the time to do so...

Tim
