Hi all,
Earlier this morning, we've had a conversation with Mikel, Gema and Fran to
discuss about future steps and improvements for the Catalan-related
language pairs.
One of the key outcomes of the conversation has been to migrate the current
apertium-es-ca package to leverage the monolingual language packages. Both
monolingual language packages (apertium-cat and apertium-spa) already
exist, and they both have been created by copying the monodixes from the
apertium-es-ca package, so we'll only need to merge any changes that have
happened since the monolingual packages were created.
In the longer term, other language pairs (like en-ca) also need to be
migrated.
I'll start doing this migration sometime in the next few days/weeks, but
I'd welcome advise from people who has already done similar tasks in the
past (wiki pages, etc). I'll make sure I document as much as I can in case
there's something missing in the docs.
Once we have the es-ca package updated, and after making sure everything
works as expected (no errors, all variants working properly, etc), we'll
work with Joan Moratinos to integrate the support to the balearic variant
of Catalan to the es-ca package.
Regards,
