Dear Apertiumers,
I am writing to you this time as president of the European Association for
Machine Translation (EAMT). The second call for papers for our 2016
conference (EAMT 2016, Riga, Latvia: http://eamt2016.tilde.com) will soon
be out.
I would encourage Apertiumers to consider submitting papers. The audience
is mainly MT researchers, but also some MT users, and it has a "user" track
in addition to a "research" track. Getting a paper accepted is not easy,
but we've already had a few Apertium papers accepted. Note that there are
many good stuff in Apertium that have not been yet presented at any
conference and could.
Apertium is already a corporate member of the EAMT, to the tune of €115 a
year. This means that 2 people can attend EAMT conferences at the reduced
EAMT member rate.
We will also submit Apertium as a product to the product/project poster
session. I, as president of the EAMT, will go to the conference anyway, and
I could present it, but I think it would be nice for other Apertiumers to
be part of this. Apertium could take a look at its finance. Who would like
to volunteer presenting there? I am basically talking of our "oldest"
developers of course.
It will be great to hear from you on all this.
All the best
Mikel
