I agree, the closer the tags, the easier it is. apertium-eng is still
a skeleton. Most pairs are using apertium-eng_feil, which can be found 
in
incubator. I suspect that it is using <pres> not <pri>, but for 
future-proofness
I would recommend <pri> / <prs> for both.
