Hi Kervin,
I have set SSDIR and other properties as follows.....
" <vssget
vsspath="/Projects/KTI/GPiS/Sources"
login="Gupta,vij"
localpath="D:\root\tempVSS"
ssdir="D:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\VSS\win32"
serverPath="D:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\VSS"
writable="true"
recursive="true"
/>"
I have also tried with leaving the VSS client up...but it give nothing but
the same problem i.e. just hanging

Hi
I have had a few issues getting VSS to work. Make sure you set SSDIR and
all
the enviroment variables.
The main issue I still have is that I must physically log into the VSS
client first, and leave it open, then everything works fine from ANT. If I
do not have the VSS client up, it just wont work.
Cheers

I tried the same but it displays the username and ask for password
even after entering correct password it says username not found..
same username and password works with VSS client

Copy the command line Ant is trying to execute to a new command prompt
(DOS session) and see what happens.
Paste this on a new command line:
ss Get $/Projects/KTI/GPiS/Sources -GLD:\root\tempVSS -I- -R -W -Ygupta,vij
