I think the only real chance of success is for me to go find the device locally.
More generally, do you see anything especially problematic with this: 1. a single sqlite query joining 2 tables via a 3rd bridge table, selecting 2 colums with an order by and collate unicode, that'll return 3000-4000 rows. invoked with db.rawQuery. 2. pass that to a simple custom adapter (BaseAdapter extension, getView creates a single textview, recycles views when possible) 3. a single ListView gets the adapter updated via setAdapter (not using notifyDataSetChanged because the cursors are from two different datasets).
