In theory, there should not be any difference.

In practice, your friend is seeing an ANR and you are not.

The difference between theory and practice is that, in theory, there is no
difference  :-)

Regarding the traces.txt - you could add code to grab this file to your
application. Consider it a special remote debugging feature.
