There are a lot of considerations, yeah, thank you for your advice. Regarding the copyright issues, as I mentioned I doubt there will be a problem but would comply if there was. There is a lot of copyright- infringing apps out there, but in most cases freeware apps are not pursued by franchise owners unless they infringe on sales of a licensed product. It functions for the franchise owner as free advertising. Tricorder for example, is one of the top downloaded apps on the Android Market, Andbot.com lists it as one of only 529 apps with over 250,000 downloads. It is not a licensed product by Paramount, but as far as I know, has incurred no issues. And directly pertaining to the Stargate franchise itself, there are like fifty to a hundred programs for the PC that are similar to my proposed phone app, that have also never received DMCA-related issues.
