My exclude lists are added in the dumptypes  rather than on each DLE.
I have the line
       exclude list optional "./amanda-exclude-list”
which means it is fine if I DON’T have an exclude file.   And when I do,
it goes at the top directory of any DLE, which is usually the top of
the disk.

So  (a)  they all go in the same relative place   and
(b)   I usually SEE the file when looking at a disk prior to replacing it,
cuz it’s in the tippy top directory  (where usually only ROOT can write).
