I think that engine burning green was probably weaker than the design thrust. It still stuck the landing, and was motionless and vertical for a half second. But internal parts were probably moving downward due to the lack of soft landing. It is supposed to be able to land on 2 engines, so the controller should have throttled it up.
Some software tweaks. Musk estimated 1/3rd chance of everything going right. SN9 is ready to fly. At least the belly flop maneuver looked flawless. It looked (to me) like they were coming in too hot. I also was wondering on the flight whether going from 3 engines to 2, and then to 1 was an anomaly. Based on the fact that all 3 fired up again on the landing that it was part of the plan. bp <part15sbs{at}gmail{dot}com>On 12/9/2020 2:56 PM, Chuck McCown via AF wrote: One of the engines was burning bright green the last 5 seconds or so. Burning copper based metal parts it appears. But if you put it in .25 speed play and single step through the last second or so, it stuck the landing. It was at rest, vertical and then it blew up.
