To all WISPA members:

I have made an arrangement with the WISPA Board to present a low-cost
method for complying with the FCC's Open Internet rules. The cost is
only $100 and is a benefit of WISPA membership. The FCC's rules require
that all ISPs publish an Open Internet Compliance Statement on their
websites by November 21. The rules can be found here:
http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2011-09-23/pdf/2011-24259.pdf The
document must address a variety of issues necessary for consumers to
make informed choices such as congestion management principles;
application blocking or traffic prioritization; security measures;
privacy policies; speeds/associated cost of service; and complaint
procedures.

Payment by credit card may also be made. After payment is confirmed, I
will send an engagement letter for my firm (if your ISP is not already a
client) to prepare the compliance statement and a survey to gather
information about how your ISP deals with the issues that must be
disclosed. After your ISP returns the completed survey, I will work that
material into a template that I have developed and return it to you for
posting. As such, every ISP that uses this service will receive a
customized Open Internet Compliance Statement prepared by a telecom
lawyer with fifteen years of experience.

For non-WISPA members, the cost of the service is $500. So any ISPs
wondering whether they should join WISPA should consider that the
discount I am providing to members would essentially make their first
year of WISPA membership free. I was around during the very beginning of
WISPA, but ceased being a vendor member a few years ago. I was astounded
by the energy at WISPAPALOOZA in Las Vegas and impressed with the growth
of the association. I decided right there to re-join WISPA as a vendor
member and look forward to working with WISPA and its members in the
future. I started my firm in 2002 with the belief that smaller ISPs
should not have to pay outrageous legal fees to be well represented.
This will be the first in a series of special offers I will be making to
WISPA members over the next year. If you have any questions, please
contact me.
