Dear Nitinbhai,

I’m genuinely delighted to read your update, and thank you so much for sharing
this.

I’ve been chasing my RM for months now and sending plenty of “stink mails”
behind the scenes about the accessibility gaps in both the mobile application
and the net-banking website. To be fair, the net-banking site has improved
significantly over time, and I’m particularly impressed with the search feature
once you log in—it’s fast, reliable, and much more user-friendly now.
Hearing that the mobile application has seen major accessibility improvements
is truly encouraging. Credit where it’s due—we must appreciate the effort their
development team has put in. And of course, a huge thanks to Rahul Bajaj, Amar
Jain, and the Mission Accessibility team, who continue pushing for change one
case, one application, and one barrier at a time. Their persistence is what
makes progress like this possible.

And now for the irony of the day:
I literally uninstalled the HDFC mobile app from my iPhone today.
(Sarcastic note: My user-testing services aren’t free, you know! 😄)
Jokes aside, it’s heartening to see positive movement, and I’m glad the
experience has improved for you and hopefully for all of us.

Warm regards,

Mister Kayne

Dear Friends,

I hope you are all doing well.

Following up on our discussion regarding the accessibility of the new HDFC Bank
application, I wanted to share that I updated to version 8.1.2 yesterday. I
have found that over 90% of the application is now accessible.

I was able to successfully register and navigate several sections, including my
account and credit card transaction histories, statements, and fund transfers.
I could also view my mutual fund portfolio; however, I was unable to find the
option for redeem money within the mutual fund section.

Overall, the application seems much improved and I do not believe there are any
remaining major issues with general use.

Best regards,

Nitinbhai Patel
